The Murrayfield IV team of Derek Croll, Roger Thomas and Colin Clark came close to defeating a Strong University I side but in the end had to settle for a share of the points.

The match started well with MMV leading 2-1 and then 4-2 with Derek playing well to defeat both Simon and then Tim, coming back from 6-10 down in the 3^rd to win 3-0.

Tim and Simon sneaked the 1^st two ends in the doubles but Colin and Derek played really well to level at 2-2.  In the 5^th end an amazing block drive by Tim from a Derek loop proved to be the turning point and Uni  I pulled the match back to 3-4.

Derek then completed his hat trick against Joe but Simon proved too strong for Roger to leave the match at 4-5 with Tim playing Colin in the decider.  The 2^nd end went to deuce but Tim won 3-0 to square the match at 5-5. A fair result to an excellent table tennis match.
