Despite leading 4-0 and then 5-2, team 6 could only manage a draw against an able university side.
The match began with a superb match, featuring several lengthy rallies, between Rowan and left-handed Tony Fowler. After losing the 1st two games 14-16, 10-12, Rowan did very well to battle back before taking a tense final end 13-11.  Charlie then beat Darren in three tight games before Ian beat Andy with ease; Charlie then overcame Tony in a scrappy match.

The momentum of the match then changed as Rowan, after leading 2-1, lost out to Andy who found his form and played some superb strokes. Ian then disappointingly lost to Darren in three games after unluckily losing the 1st end 13-15. With the score now 4-2 to Murrayfield, Charlie and Ian played solidly, with some good defensive play, to take the doubles in three.

As against Penicuik, Charlie and Ian then lost crucial 5-set games. Charlie played too defensively and allowed Andy to find his rhythm before Ian suffered several moments of ill fortune in losing to Tony. Rowan had the last chance to secure a match victory but missed some chances on the key points and lost out in three very tight games.
