A solid win though the margin of victory ought to have been greater. Young Maddie Miller played well for N.Merchiston.  William was a bit unlucky to lose a tight 5 setter against Stirling.

The fixture produced a lot of firsts. It was the first fixture of the 2009-10 season for M6, the first league match for Charlie Ellis as a Murrayfield player and the first time young William Skinner had played in division 2. As it turned out it was also Murrayfield 6’s first win of the season.

Charlie proved too consistent for the North Merchiston team winning all 3 games and easily took the doubles with Ian in 3 sets. William proved the merit of being picked as 3^rd player by beating Anthony To win a nail biting 5 setter 11-9 in the 5^th end. Ian was disappointingly beaten by an in-form Maddy Miller who proved to be North Merchy 5’s strongest player on the night.
