Both teams only managed to field two players, Murrayfield struggling to get players due to holidays. The decision was made to go ahead and play as it seemed unlikley that the fixture would be played as Edinburgh Uni are already a few games behind and no free weeks available in DIV 3.
It was a frustrating evening for Murrayfield with the chance of a victory slipping through their fingers. Mark beat Chris Clifton Sprigg 3 -0 although the scoreline did not give the true picture of a evenly fought contest. Mark getting the benefit of several clips from the net and edges at crucial points in the match. Gerome was beaten 3-1 by new commer Michael Lisaua despite being ahead early on in 2 of the four games. When Gerome did find his range he looked a formidable opponent. Consistency and match experiance will come as we progress through the season. Mark was then beaten 3-2 by the left hander Michael in the same fashion as last week, comming from 2-0 down only to be denied in the 5th. This was a dissapointing score as Mark felt he should have done better against the less experianced Michael. This turned out to be a crucial game as Chris beat Gerome 3-1 to clinch the match. Even more frustrating for Murrayfield was the fact that they comfortably won the Doubles match 3-1 with Gerome's powerful forehand smashes finding their range.
