Given that against the other two title challengers (WL 3 and Cor 2) we had a record of 2Wins, 1Draw and 1Loss, it wasn’t in those matches that we lost out. More damaging were the early losses to Penicuik III and the disastrous draw versus Edin Uni 3. Other missed chances included the draw versus Cor 3 and the narrow loss to a NM 5. In many of these games the doubles proved vital.

Team 6 need your support-Friday 2nd April
Written by Charlie Ellis
Monday, 29 March 2010

Though their lost to West Lothian means they can no longer win Div 2, they can claim

2nd with a win versus Corstorphine 2 (who themselves need a draw to secure 2nd).

The match will be played at Murrayfield, starting at  about 7pm. The game is likely

to be a close one against a strong Cor 2 side.

Corstorphine will no doubt bring along a sizeable band of rowdy followers,

so if you are in the area this Friday,  come along and support team 6.

Murrayfield teams all fall in Handicap Cup
Written by Charlie Ellis
Sunday, 14 February 2010

All 3 remaining Murrayfield  teams went out of the Handicap Cup at the 2nd round stage at  North Merchiston.

Team 8 (Chris Markey, Hamish Barrie and William Skinner) and team 5 (Alex Asounkin, Howard Beck and Roger Thomas) both lost in disappointingly one-sided matches.

Team 6 (Ian Robertson 0/3, Rowan Campbell 1/2 and Charlie Ellis 2/3) were pretty close to going through,  losing an entertaining contest 5-3 to a useful Edinburgh International side led by Simon Fu. Ian losing (primarily because of a few wayward smashes) to Simon in a desperately close match that would-had Ian won it- have leveled the match at 4-4.
