We eventually had our Hard Bat Tournament on Tuesday 22nd Sept.
There were 21 players willing to take up the bats from the past and do battle in some long and entertaining rallies. Not the normal for a Tuesday night.
It was looking like the Falkirk posse of James Russell and the Wheeler boys were favourites. Unfortunatelly for them they were in the same side of the draw and James was too strong for Christopher in the Semi-final. In the other semi Howard beat Roger with his abilit to hit with these lumps of wood. In the final James again was too strong with his backhand hit and beat Howard.
In the consolation event, Charlie beat Eileen in the final.
The curry went down very well, thanks to the excellent Delta carry-out in Roseburn, and the best bit we even managed to make a £52 profit to help with our funds.
I must apologise for no photographs, I did have my camera but was to eager to get the curry, I forgot.
